Merriam-Webster defines "career" as "a field for or pursuit of consecutive progressive achievement especially in public, professional, or business life" or "a profession for which one trains and which is undertaken as a permanent calling."

Career Opportunities

For more information about career opportunities, contact the AIGS office in your area or browse current openings.

A job is defined by Merriam-Webster as "a piece of work, especially a small piece of work undertaken on order at a stated rate" or "something that has to be done."

This distinction is the reason we titled this page "Careers," and why we avoid the word "jobs." A career with Andrews International Government Services (AIGS) is more than just a job. It's an opportunity available only to high-integrity individuals with spotless backgrounds and demonstrated drive to succeed.

Earning a career opportunity with AIGS is not easy. But for those who meet our standards, the possibilities are unlimited. Our people have access to resources that will help them evolve personally and advance professionally in careers as security service professionals, consistent with their own aspirations. We operate in a culture where employees continuously challenge themselves, and individual and team achievements are recognized and rewarded. Our approach to partnering across the organization encourages employee ownership and teamwork and engenders mutual respect.

Our employees are exposed to the influence and inspiration of thought leaders in the security services industry, as they work alongside industry veterans. Our colleagues also include the industry's best new talent – bright, invigorated newcomers to security, who bring enthusiasm, energy and fresh perspective to the business of providing security solutions.

Protection Professionals

At AIGS, we differentiate ourselves from security companies known as "security guard providers." Merriam-Webster defines a "guard" as "one assigned to protect or oversee another," whereas an officer is defined as "one who holds an office of trust, authority or command."  AIGS employs security officers - highly trained protection professionals who are dedicated to security careers and entrusted with great responsibility. As a security company providing government security services and operating programs at some of the nation's most sensitive sites, AIGS is serious about employing only the most trustworthy people.

Because we stake our reputation and our clients' safety on our employees, and because we invest heavily in security officer training and development, we subject every candidate to the most comprehensive screening and background investigation procedures security companies can follow.

To pre-qualify for consideration as an AIGS Protection Professional, applicants must:

  • Be at least 21 years of age
  • Be able to obtain a Secret or Top Secret Clearance
  • Obtain and maintain all locally required licenses and certificates
  • Be willing to pass medical and/or psychological tests as a condition of employment or continued employment (including tests for substance abuse)
  • Be able to communicate effectively in the English language
  • Be able to meet and successfully interact with co-workers, supervisors, clients, and the public
  • Be capable of understanding and applying work rules and regulations
  • Be able to maintain self-control and poise in stressful situations
  • Have a high school diploma or GED (or equivalent)

AIGS is committed to creating a diverse environment and is proud to be an equal opportunity employer. A culturally and ethnically diverse team is the foundation for a strong, professional community of security services professionals who understand the needs of our diverse client base. We believe different styles and approaches to problems result in more effective business solutions. We do not unlawfully discriminate on the basis of race, color, religion, sex, national origin, ancestry, age, medical condition, disability, veteran status, marital status, or sexual orientation. This policy applies to all areas of employment, including recruitment, hiring, training, promotion, compensation, and benefits.
